Please please please.
Get rid if the darn cheap A** ,SIDEWAYS Snowman with the Alfa badge by every post thread. I hate to see the cheap plastic badge and now there are Rows of them in a nasty black/blue and white to boot.
If I have to I can live with the new like all the other BMW and M.B. Chevy site BBs with this set up . But Please Not the snowman and Alfa badge on every post ..
If You Must. can you have the Badge properly set. not at a angle with a Snow man.

Not happy. Garish red and blue is horrid. Looks like the Official 4th of July Website. Feel like a fool for complaining, but I am a paying customer. Probably won't re-subscribe, then will shut up and take whatever is offered.
"Professional Magazine"? Yes, like a trade rag that you see in a restroom at a hydraulics equipment distributor. You glance at it, maybe read a third of an article if you are "sitting down" and a compulsive reader, and then never think about it again. Worse, like some give away crap at a trade show or on an airplane. "Professionally" ugly. Sorry, I am really not trying to hurt anyone's feelings, but that is how this "new look" makes me feel. It's that bad...

Maybe a version like this? Add a reflection in the logo and it will pop in a 3d way. This way it is not sideways. A shadow under the vertical circle might be more appealing. It looks like the 'snowman' is there to keep Alfa from legal action?
Just a thought.

+1 (** and succinctly put)
Nothing I've heard in the past few days of this thread has changed my mind one little bit about the aesthetics and layout. This does smack of being a waste of what are claimed to be scarce resources. Were we all crying out for this re-design? Errrr ... no.

I've had the same problem for months when logging on. Maybe it's something Simon designed in to keep us old guys on our toes (Senior Members).
Oh, and I'm fine with the new design. It took me a few seconds to adjust to it, and now all is well with the world. New look, same great content, same great price.

Gary,
I've kept from commenting until I read yours. I agree with you. I don't look at it as much as read it. Must be ageism... or something.

(omg) It's supposedly Latin, I know it as place filler text for Apples iWeb program. Look at some of the earlier posts ^.

"Lorem ipsum" has been used as dummy text by graphic designers for decades so they could get a design mocked up without waiting for actual content. I seem to remember being able to buy it as press type or as stick-down sheets (I'm probably dating myself).

You're right about how designers use random text as a place holder. We called it "Greeking" in ye olde days. I remember when Linotype machines spit out lead slugs, or lines of type, that were set in type chases. Bad news if someone dropped one of those suckers on the way to the printing press. Then along came that newfangled "cold" type that we originale folks hated so much, at least until we got used to it. And after that came computers crammed with 46,000 fonts, all of which can be stretched, squashed, and bent.
Progress. Ain't it grand!

It's a shame but I've all but given up on this site now
The speed/reload remains abysmal for me in the UK and now the look and feel is completly buggered. The title bar looks like something on a cheap DVD knock off and the use of colour is simply ghastly.
I don't understand the move to created tiered membership so that users can avoid the advertising - why would I advertise with AlfaBB you if they are giving regular traffic the opp to avoid ?
Please return the original style sheets and add some 'new' value to the forum for 'paid members' as opposed to removing value for everybody else (or new).
Other forums which (in my opinion) get it right (simply).. include
AlfaOwner.com
Samba.com
VWvortex.com
Talk Audio
It just took five minutes to flick between simple and advanced editing

I really do apologize for the page load times in the UK. Unfortunately a fix for this issue has been put on hold until the new version of the BB is 100% completed. Right now I’d say I’m about 70% of the way there. Should be next week. Fingers crossed!

It’s a little late for this feedback but I do appreciate you letting me know.

The membership levels were never created so members can avoid ads. It was made so that the site can stay alive as we have already tried many other things to support the site. The option for fewer ads came as a request from the collective.

When have we ever removed “value” from the any users? The real value of the site is in its content and that is and always will be FREE to anyone who visits the site regardless of their membership level.
