Alfa Repair manuals
Is there a way to post some of those hard (read impossible) to find repair manuals on the bb? I have one on my hard drive and thought it might be handy for other people but i can't put a link for a website (don't have one). I'd like everyone who needs the info to get it but don't want to attach a 9meg zipped file to heaps of emails. One other problem: Would it land the bb in hot water with copyright laws? I think this manual is no longer available.

Which manuals are you talking aboout? The old factory ones? I don't know how much of an issue that will be. I've got plenty of original factory literature on the web, and I've yet to be sued.
Webspace is getting cheaper and cheaper everyday. Take a look at the place that's hosting my site. They have some really nice inexpensive plans.

G'Day ??,
From the fact your manual is only 9mb, I'm guessing it's a Haynes manual.
If so, copyright would be an issue.
Otherwise Alfa don't seem to care. I have seen reported quotes from Alfa along the lines of "who cares, that car's over ten years old" .
As to your idea of hosting manuals, I currently have 189Mb of Alfa 75 manuals at my site. Multiply that by however many models and it will take up a hell of a lot of space.
Also which ISP do you use, most offer free webspace these days?

It's definately not a haynes manual. That polish site is probably the same one. Anyone wanting it go grab it.
Unfortunately i'm on a crappy pre paid dial-up due to dire financial situations. This pre paid as far as i know gets me internet access and that's about it!

Just spoke to a friend about "copyright infringement" when posting manuals. Maybe somethings are best left alone. I know there is "Elvira lady" at ALFA who fields questions. Has she been approached about securing rights to reproduce manuals.
Has any National club officials "George Pezloid lawyer,AROC Legal Council" tried to get permission from ALFA/Fiat to archive the old manuals electronically? Italians are a very forward thinking group of people who embrace new technologies while they have a great since of preserving history. Electronically converting ther documentation would be a service to all ALFA Owners the world over. Preserves the Marque too. I'm suprised they haven't incorporated Electronic parts reference and service information into there international web pages. Wouldn't it be nice to have all the Marques library online where we could search for a particular manual? Getting permission to reproduce the parts microfische, tool bulletins, service manuals, etcerta may not be such a hard thing to do if ALFA was approached in the correct fashion by the right people.
I have scans of the Guila differential manual that I print out to take to the garage. Don't want to get my originals greasy. I'd like to get a copy of the 115, 80's differential manual that includes the limited slip differential rebuilding. (I have the great Russ Neely article). Does any body have a copy I can aquire or download?

When I became the AROC-USA Tech Librarian, I was told that this Library does indeed have ARI's permission to reproduce/archive, in any format, any material that's in the Library's possession.
Unlike the mid 60s 105 cars, there is no separate 'differential manual' per se for a 1980s 115 Alfa. Rather, there is a 'rear axle' section in the 86-88 Spider service manual that contains 20 or so different sections.
Please email me at alfalibrary@optonline.net for more info.

Jim,
Feel free to download the Alfa 75 manuals from my site (see sig) to add them to the AROC-USA library and to distribute as you see fit.

And you'll also get a copy of a Alfa 33 manual complete with 1.7efi, twincarb, 4X4 & AWD wagon models when I get around to digitizing it.
