Donation button

Ok. I know I am a bit tired, and I just want supper and a beer, but I also wanted to make good on my promise to donate the proceeds from a recent eBay auction. I had a great buyer who is also a BB member and he came through with a winning bid. Now, MY OPINION is that the AlfaBB webmaster(s) should put a nice simple easy to find DONATE BUTTON on every page that a person visits. I know that it mght seem like shameless promotion, but good golly, your site derserves it! It took me 19 clicks to finally get to a link that took me to the donate opage, and it is a 2002 thread. We all want to keep a nice non-offensive forum up and running, and it is not my intention to have this site begging for funds as does public television, but I will bet if you had the donate button on every page in a nice tasteful manner, then when some of the prominent and knowledgeable gents solved in seconds what a newbie had struggled over for days, a donation would be quickly PayPal-ed to your account. My 2 cents. Peace to all, and now I intend to eat my dinner. Be well.

I hope you enjoyed your dinner! The "Site Donations" button is at the top of each page

Oh well. I am getting older, and with all this grey hair comes this teeny little bit of sight restriction I reckon. Anyhow.... time for the cold beer! Peace gentlemen, and thanks to all you BB-ers who will refrain from tormenting me for not noticing the button...
Peter

Peter,
Every page of this BB has a "Site Donations" button. Please look at the top green bar that has "User CP", "FAQ", "Members List", "Calendar". "Site Donations", etc., and then click on the "Site Donations"...

I hope you realize that you have just lost your own "bet", as the exact function you described (using PayPal) has been there all along... I think now you can better appreciate why Simon feels that he's got to do something different, and some of us really support a change to the status quo...

Best regards,
Enrique

P.S. Edit: I was writing this post and by the time I finished, you posted, so I want to emphasize that there is no desire on my part to torment you for not noticing the function.

And I would like to thank YOU Jim, and all other AlfaBB gurus for all the help you have offered. I have had one of the greatest summer and fall driving seasons of my life now that there are Alfas in my garage...

And I will take the beatings as I should....

You're a good sport, Peter... and going through all the trouble that you did to make a donation speaks volumes, and is really good to read. Thank you!

Peter,

I'll second Enrique. No one who makes a donation deserves anything other than thanks. And that especially goes for anyone who can't easily find the 'site donations' button yet takes the trouble to do so. And it also especially goes for anyone who then tries to make sure that the next guy can find it too.

Thanks!
