Chill out on the Scam threads...
I think its good that the scams are brought to our attention, but people should really hold out on posting them before Ebay can actually have a chance to take it down, as theyre pretty good at now.
Also, people at least posting the Scams in the FOR SALE section, seems silly but is more appropriate without a dedicated section.
There are at least ten of these a week that people seem to feel belong in the most popular section of the BB, Anything About Alfas.. always with titles that don't tell you its yet another scam thread and wasting my time by even going into it since Ebay has probably pulled it anyhow.

Fair enough, but I can't see how the FOR SALE section is all that more appropriate for scams as thread is for legitimate sellers, etc. I have suggested before that a dedicated scam thread would be helpful, be it for Ebay, Craig's List, whatever.

A big reason why ebay pulls them is because this BB exposes them... ebay does in fact reference our threads about the scam, as part of their investigation. (You can report to ebay via their e-mail system or the live help feature.) Furthermore, these scams have often been about cars owned by fellow BBers. That said, I do think that we could avoid cluttering forums if we had a specific place for scams. Perhaps a dedicated section, " a scam thread", as was suggested before by “silverspider”, could be the answer?
Best regards,

The scams should be reported in the FOR SALE section because that's where those of us who could be duped by the se scans are usually lurking. The FOR SALE section usually has about a dozne people logged in at any one time, much highe than the rest of the website.

Well, we've been pretty successful at it. I tend to take a quick look at what's selling on ebay on the weekends, and there are always 20 - 30 Alfas. I think a lot of us always look, so between us we can always spot the suspicious listings... Furthermore, since auctions are listed for at least a week, time is a little on our side.
Best regards,
