Hmm. These days, every thread seems to become a dispute thread.

I have to admit that. But i come to the bitter conclusion that people really like that crap. The biggest proof is the thousands of views and dozens of posts in every thread has to deal with Olczyk vs Schaller childish conflict.
Maybe it's time for me to log out permanently.

PS.Tubut the 2600SZ is my favourite classic Alfa Romeo.

To be clear: I suggested a dispute thread not for voyeurs and rubberneckers. The idea that the forum should be used to air dirty laundry or as a release for posters with "writer's rage" is indeed sad. I just thought that is we could cabin/circumscribe these nonsense posts so that they do no pollute other threads, it would benefit all.

i didn't misunderstand your proposition and i am on your side. But i am afraid that even so, this hypothetical space would sooner or later become one of bb's favourite with thousands of viewers. And anyway you can't teach an old dog new tricks.

Dear member, we don t need a place for dipute, like say this man "" I would not slam anybody or company it may just come back and bit you. ""
He is right, everythings that you post is public and can be read by everybody.
The only solution is to stay polite, never badmouth other party and so on.
If you don t play with fire, we don t need fireman.

I just also realise that some people don t want to understand the difference between opinion and insult. It s a big difference between both of them.

People here like Alfa Romeo and all good intentions need to be accepted.
Me too, I can critic books of other people as I saw mistakes so big that they are funny, BUT I DON T as I known how hard is to make a book.

The first thing that internet people should learn is respect.
With respect, you will never have a problem in your life.

Regards

....and if your toes are shorter they don't get trodden on.

It is a rule of internet life that you occasionally need to step away from the computer, have a cold beer, smoke a cigarette and kick the cat before returning to the keyboard and contributing.

You need to learn that.

An internet forum is a faceless, written medium and misunderstandings are very easy to create depending, not least, on the frame of mind with which you participate.

You need to understand that as well.

Irony and sarcasm are humorous instruments which work very poorly in a written conversation where bodylanguage and facial expression is not available to underpin the true meaning of the message.

Clearly you take everything too seriously and when your reactions are such as they are you will be provoked into making more of them. When you subsequently blow your understanding of comments made and reactions to your reactions way out of proportion and you even go as far as legal action, you lose all credibility and it is frankly time to log off and stop participating.

If your books are as good as you say they are, they will sell themselves and you need not impress a community such as this one with your chestbeating. What you have accomplished here is merely to alienate yourself, shoot most of your leg off and lose all credibility by your inane, childish actions.

What the Dr. is doing is entirely beyond my comprehension but that's probably just me.

I officially withdraw the request; how quixotic of me to thisnk people could even a modicum of self-control. Even this suggestion thread has been badgered by the the very clueless posters at issue. Sigh.

Please, try to have positive ideas. not negatives one.
Please look the good side of a community and don t suggest a bad side.
We don t need a dispute forum, we need that everybody stay polite.
Is it so difficult ?

To which I respond, "apparently." The disentegration of decorum on public forums seems to mirror the rise in reality TV. Arghhh.

I really do not like the whole dispute thread idea mostly because it opens up a GIANT can of worms which is not really needed here on the site.

I can't tell you how many emails I get from site members asking me to delete things that others have said etc... Most of them revolve around transactions on eBay or elsewhere. My thoughts are that if you have a problem with a transaction from eBay take it up on their site via their feedback system or your credit card company. I really don’t have time to play mediator for every deal that goes south nor is this the proper site to post dirty laundry.

If it’s something that happens from a purchase here on our site via the classified forums please realize that AlfaBB has no hand in any of the transactions so they truly are person to person deals. Make sure to do your due diligence on any seller you are looking to buy from. The search feature of the site can be your best friend when it comes to this.

I'm hoping to find some time to hash out some better posting guide lines to better define what is and what isn't an acceptable post here.

Thanks for the feedback and let’s keep it on a positive vibe.

You get the point. Problems always arise from opinion diversity and from the way telling things. Maybe many people aren't used to this expression medium that is the Internet. We should use more smilies
