Limited Production (1977 - on)
Is it possible to create another sub-forum for limited production alfas post 1977? I'm specifically looking to start discussions on the Alfa SZ/RZ ...
Thanks,

Sounds like a good idea.

I personally agree with you and would love to see hot discussion on S.Z. and R.Z., but the fact is that there not many "limited production" alfas in post 1977 era: ES30 and 75 turbo evoluzione are the only ones I can think of. Neither of them were imported to the US and therefore not many people, if anybody, are interested in them here on bb.
BTW, my mom owns an S.Z. (VIN:675, plaque #639) and a milano verde (US version 75 3.0V6) with engine/transmission/suspension transplanted from a wrecked S.Z. Do you also have an ES30?

Hey, that's a great idea. I wonder how many menbers of bb has SZ/RZs.
As seen in my avatar, I have one, anybody else? I hope we can share info cos some SZ/RZ parts are really hard to get and also expensive.

ES30 was sold in Japan ? or did you personally import it ?
May I ask you how much you paid for it ?
For instance, it negociates about 25 000 - 30 000 euros in Europe.

There are many, many ES30s in Japan. In fact, most of the ES30s that did not remain in the Europe ended up in Japan. I am pretty sure that we have at least 100 ES30's (S.Z.s and R.Z.s all together) currently registered in Japan. My mom has owned three (plus one wrecked S.Z. which became the donor for our milano/S.Z. hybrid) so far. Most of them are unofficially imported but the official Japanese distributor (Alfa Romeo Japan) also imported a couple of dozens of S.Z.'s in 1993 or so and they were sold for 12 million JPY (little over 100,000USD). The peak advertised price of S.Z. in Japan was actually even higher at 17 million JPY (140-150K USD ) back in early 1990s. Today, the average price of a decent S.Z. is between 25,000USD and 35,000USD, depending on the mileage on it. The R.Z. is considerably more inexpensive at 20,000-30,000USD.

Taiga is right. Except Official importer was OSAWA at that time and they imported very few ES30s .
Mine is one of them.
I think the number of SZ/RZ in Japan is about 100~200 , Japanese SZ/RZ register requires annual fee, so many people like me didin't register.
Price range is about the same I guess , its like 20000-35000 euros. You can always find couple of SZs for sale here. And whats more new cars ( at least 2 to my knowledge ) are still available.

Yes, you are right!! I stand corrected. I think the wrecked S.Z. my mom had (yes, the remaining body shell was taken to a recycler last year) was also OSAWA car.

Thx for the info guys
So most Zag 3.0 (as we usually call it) are in Japan but prices are the same as in Europe. I know well the SZ of a friend which I was able to drive (thx buddy). He's frequently "racing" it on some regional circuits (just for exhibition and fun purposes).
