Personally.... I hate the new "info boxes"

I find the VERY NEW pop ups when you hover over a topic annoying. I liked it when they appeared over a SUBJECT line, but now when you are surfing around, there needs to be one up and in your face wherever your pointer is.... My 2 cents. which is trivial....

We can all appreciate your annoyance with this issue but Simon owns this forum and funds it as he needs to. The advertising is indeed, obtrusive and annoying, but its here to stay ... and unless someone makes a whopper of a donation, things won't return to "the good ole days of the AlfaBB".

I could be well mistaken, but I think Peter is reffering to the thread 'preview' popups and how they block parts of the page one might want to read, (like what the next thread's subject is for example) not advertising.

Dropping your cursor anywhere in the expanse of space where there's a thread title/subject brings one up.

If I'm off, sorry, ignore me please. (for the record, the popups don't bother me as I keep my mouse way over there ---> til I read the subject lines on a page)

Darren,

I believe you are correct. I don't drag my mouse along the subjects like a marker as I read either; I keep it over by the arrow to click to bring up the thread selected. I rarely, if ever see them unless I'm not paying attention to where the mouse is.

Not the ads. I accept advertising as a needed tool in ANY business. I just liked the previous way the hover worked... When you were over the subject line... now the hover box appears wherever you are on the thread listing... Not ranting too much.. Just my objection. As for the Ads, they are usually relevant and I have done many click thru's on them. Just bought a nice Alfa shirt for my wifey!
From an Ebay link in the Google box. Heck, even some of MY parts are in the Google box occasionally...

If you use Firefox you can turn off the tooltips (what you call "info boxes"). Type "about:config" in the address bar and scroll down to the value "browser.chrome.toolbar_tips" and double-click it until it shows "false".

The downside is of course that you then cannot see tooltips on any website.
