Newbie suggestion: rough buyer's guides?

Hi All,

I was wondering whether you all had considered trying a new forum/compilation of the resident wisdom concerning buying an Alfa.

I'll admit my "newbie-ness," but given the experience here I'd imagine that you all could create a terrific "buyers guide" of sorts. I know that I, for one, wouldn't mind reading it!

Cheers

I believe there's a Spider buyer's guide if you search for it, made by Roadtrip.

Also, on the alfagtv6.com or org, there's a gtv6 buyer's guide.

On the alfa digest, there might be a 164 buyer's guide.

Perhaps we can pull all of those and make one big guide separated into sections per car...I wouldn't be opposed to it! Though we may have to be careful for copyright crap...

Along this same vein, some non-alfa cars I've foolishly owned in my younger years have had support forums who formed a sort of "shop manual" section with step-by-step howto's of the most frequently performed or most puzzling maintenence tasks. I know many of these can be gleaned with a well worded search or two, but having it all in once place is invaluable in my opinion. There are many times when the shop manual assumes you know how to do something which might be obvious to a factory trained alfa mechanic but leaves me quite baffled.

Careful what y'all wish for. If all the buying, owning, and fixing tips were easily found in one place we'd have nothing to talk about, and no need for the BB

I think such guides exist off the Internet. Consider buying these two books:
