Regional Forums

The forums of several other marques I've owned have forums dedicated to sections of the US (Northeast, Southeast, etc.) It was very handy, especially when looking for and rating vendors and mechanics. It would allow local Q&A to occur without troubling everyone else.

For an example see RX8Club.com - Powered by vBulletin (yeah, I had one and I still miss it -- maybe in a couple years, Fiat, via Chrysler, will let me have a new Alfa.)

Just scroll down on the main page and you'll see several regional and club forums. I don't think you can get much more regional than to the level of a regional club chapter. Am I misunderstanding something in your post?

The club forums are valuable, but I was thinking of something a little less regional. The RX8 forums which divided the US up into four sections (SE, NE, NW, and SW) as I recall.

This may be even more beneficial to Alfa owners as there isn't a dealer network in place. Also, a 'club' implies membership -- an owner might not feel comfortable posting into a club's forum if they're not a member.

An example: the largest raceway here in the Atlanta area occasionally has events where non-professionals can get time on the track. Depending on one's level of interest or schedule, this might be interesting to people living hundreds of miles away. It's unlikely that they would necessarily read the forum devoted to the local Atlanta club.
