I assume you refer to "the General"... He's not REALLY gone you know. Just renamed and perhaps seen the error of his ways. I always enjoyed the "color" he brought to the BB. As insane as some of his posts could be, its a duller place without him.
I agree that we are pretty self regulating and an all around well behaved bunch. Personally I could do with a little more drama in OT (and ONLY OT), but hey "Old farts is as old farts does".

Yes, John...I know 'The General' is re-born. I am glad that he isn't wreaking havoc on the membership like he used to do.

I also know that you enjoy a bit of 'drama' on the BB. I don't quite understand that, but 'to each is own' I guess.

I hang out on the BB because it's the BEST place to feed my Alfa habit when I'm not fixing them, buying them, selling them or driving them!

I say you two non chrome lov'n, polish'n bash'n, dull finish spread'n Alfiestastis should just duke it out in the off topic forum. Come on! Bash da bLiNg bLiNg jUiCe out of eachother! FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT!

Heck I couldn't resist. Hey Paradixo, did I tell you that the other day after we talked on the phone....the night of the bricks and fireworks......I went to pull the 92 into the garage and discovered a cracked windshield. Now I can't get hagerty's claim guy off his a double s to get things rolling.

Oh yeah....conduct on the Alfabb....I think people should stay on topic!

The Alfabb is still in pretty good shape, IMHO. I think rarely someone needs lines drawn. But once lines are drawn, these same people tend to stay within them. Even the General (alias now) keeps trucking along without any trouble. I don't know what causes the outbursts...whether never been on a board before....just excited about finding the Alfabb....maybe we just are not getting their sense of humor through the type........or what...but over time these folk settle down, we get to know them better, and they go on to contribute. Look at Dretceterini as an example. Very opinionated, but full of knowledge. He raised a stink in that thread where someone was selling their 164. But he has gone on to add so much interesting historical data to the Alfabb. For as opinionated as Dretceterini is, he since has for the most part put that in appropriate places on the bb.......and not in other's threads where they are selling their cars.

Best Regards,
John M

John, John, John...

Just so you know, I am 5'11" tall and weigh about 270lbs. My arms are about the size of a 5-ton truck driveshaft, and my legs make some trees shy. I played football and hockey and I was the Captain of the wrestling team. I was trained to do stuff you never want to have to do by the military, and was a 'rubber boat' guy in Cambodia. I had three sons with whom I wrestled pretty consistently, was edu-me-cated by Jesuit Priests, have an IQ of 145 (last time I was tested) and was a member of the debating team in College. I grew up in Canada, where the men are men and the moose are nervous. I rode Harleys for a few years and I was married to a world-class ***** for over 17 years! And, to top that all off, I helped to get the General banned from the BB!

Of course, I haven't put anybody in the hospital for at least five years...so I guess I'm about due.

Are you sure you wanna tackle with me?

You are correct about the "hiding behind a shield" aspect of internet life. The General was a perfect example of a person hiding. In the future I hope that there is more of a united coalition of moderators who deal with these problems. It should not have been left up to Snaidy alone (as he claimed) to rid the board of that type of juvenile babble. I'm thinking more Desert Storm than Iraqi Freedom.

Velocess,
Wow! SOmeone else from the west!!! With a few notable exceptions... i.e. SD and KY, this was turning into an East Coast and Australian chat room!
As for your Dessert Storm vs. Iraqi Freedom comparison... I'm not going to touch that one.
Cheers

I'm from Montreal, but as I wrote you in another post, I have lived all over Canada, from the East to the West Coast...and I even spent some time in (shudder!!) T.O.

I moved to the States because my wife is from here, my boys and their Mom (my ex) live here and because the navy chose to send me here. Besides, even though I played hockey...I never spent too much time watching it. It's funny to watch the way people here react to things like when I say "he has a hockey-sock full of those", etc.

I guess there many things different between Canadians and Americans I find the spelling is too funny. Color nice and easy but we spell it colour. Many others but I have a brain fart and can't think.

Hockey sock yes not too many would understand that term.

Do you miss anything up here? Tim Hortons?

Two last question what do you do in the Navy?

Do ya think Primo could have had a shot at ya?

Thanks
