Section for teens

I think it would be cool to have a section for young people to gather and talk and meet up(not datingwise, but whatever floats your boat) and perhaps to hang out, talk Alfas, help each other with new installs...etc..the list goes on!

Text your vote to 'alfabb' with Cingular before 9pm! JK, just vote here!!!

I know i'll be shot down and burned and whatnot, but I though i'd at least give it a try!

That's what the Off Topic section is for.

I think that's a great idea! Frankly, anything that will help attract and keep 'yooots' to the BB and the Alfa experience is fine by me!

I'm against segregation and agree with Anthony that the "Off topic" section should be sufficient. In that sense, let's keep this a BB that is about cars, not about the people. And let's focus on the values we share, not on those dividing us.

whoah whoah whoah, hold up! no one is talking about segregation.

Though in a sense, every forum is segregated from the other if you think about it...

LOL, maybe the suggestion forum should be taken out as it is one big controversy? (rhetorical)

Hey, don't get bent out of shape when you asked the question to begin with. Anthony makes a great suggestion, use the Off Topic Forum and just go with it. Since the board is made up of all of us, seperating any of us by age is counterproductive. What happens when you guys are no longer teens? You get kicked out of the forum? Can non teens post there? Get it? Why seperate yourself by age.

Since I have a teen I am quite sure they should have thier own section for teen related stuff. They have issues and concerns that don't really apply to the rest of us. Plus they have a common core of experience that they can all relate too. Not to mention the fact that a lot of them are just plain concerned with different things, like what music sound best in thier car, how to fit a subwoofer, what color paint is the "in" color, what exhaust tips will look the best parked next to a peer's Honda. These are the types of things my little girl asks about and I and the other older (admit it!) folks here don't have a clue about.

I know if there is a teen section my daughter will be on it.

Hey, we can all lurk to see if the teens figure out how to install electronic fuel injection with computer mapping into a Spica car. Young people are great at that stuff.

On the other hand, Michael Jackson might lurk in that section.

After thinking about this more (sorry Sean) I completely disagree with the idea. The Alfa community is already segregated as it is..
Old guys vs us (teens)
RWD vs FWD
V6 vs 4-cylinder

Don't make it worse!

Greg brings up a great point, as well as Bill, but I think there just might be a break through on that ! Thats kind of what I was aiming at as well.

No, i'm not getting bent out of shape, its just kind of weird to see all ideas get shut down in the suggestions forum...so why have one?
Also, the owner of the site(i think its he who owns it) voted against it, so, there's probably no point in discussing it further...

Sorry fellow teens...I tryed!
