It is definitely dead? Mine was stuck, and I gave it a real wash out with carb cleaner, then washed it in soapy water, and fiddled with the adjustment nut until it worked.

Rebuilding is out of the question.
Replace (there's several other makes out there that have the same part, and likely for a lot less $$. BMW, Volvo and Datsun come to mind right off. bianchi1 gave a few alternative versions at one point or another also if you need to refine the search a bit) or convert to a hand operated mechanical one if you don't mind doing that sort of thing. (Chevy heater valve, p# supplied somewhere around the forum, and a manual choke cable kit along with a easily fabbed custom mount to anchor it)

Saw that.
Pretty amazing price difference huh. I wonder if it's partially because one is '7 post relay' while the other is 'for Alfa Romeo' (well, really I don't wonder, I'm actually kinda convinced)

Before buying a new one, take it off and spray it a fw times with Carb Cleaner, just like another poster stated. I did that to mine a few years ago and it has worked great ever since. I've also used the same technique on EGR's on other cars.

Because I still can't get into my attachments list in the userCP, so can't dredge that up to link or post here. (it's been off my computer for quite some time now, so re-uploading is out)

Well figgure the odds, it only took about 4 minutes of wait time between forum searches, but I think this is what you meant wasn't it Joe?
Left side is on it's way to closed as it gets warm, right side is open when it's cold.
*a working one may open or close more than what is shown, which is simply for a visual reference, not a spec range schematic.

Thats it!! Great resource, thanks to Tif.
(That could also pass for an example of 19th century abstract impressionism, no?? I could entitle it "One door closes as another one opens"....kind of a metaphor of life)

Looks more like looking down at the valve in a manually operated boat toilet to me, but hey, if you think it looks impressionistic, more power to ya
