nice, but...
I could do without the two-tone interior, chrome plated cam cover and insignia on the hood.
And the arm rests- what's with those?

Ditto! The first thing I'd do would be peel that thing off the hood.
It's a nifty color, in it's own way, but was that lime green color an Alfa selection back then? I would not have thought so. I would also like to see the underside as well as the shiny top-side.
Rust in the Rocker panels (kinda wavy in one photo)? The drivers door seems to stick out a bit, alignment or damage issue?
I suppose I'm Nit-Picking 'cause of the price. I could see paying for a true original 1972 for over $10,000+ depending on condition ($22,000 in the buy it now button? Wishful thinking!). This one seems to be in great shape, but not original. What's it conna cost to make it original? They're not making any more of them in Italy.

Have you ever seen that ebay commercial where the guy is looking at cars on his computer, clicks on a lime green hatchback and says, "sweet!" The camera pans back and his entire apartment is lime green.
Well there must be two of them bidding on it.

Actually, no one's bidding on it. The $15k is the starting price and there are no bids yet. Soccersimon/tito's silver beauty is head and shoulders (and maybe some other body parts, too) above this.
It just kills me that someone would go to all the expense of what at least in photos looks like a decent paint job and interior resto and go for non-stock colors and expect to get top price. (I shouldn't whine though, since I drive a corvette yellow spider with a cloth interior. But I'm not expecting to get $22k for it)

Must admit, the car is cherry, soup to nuts. We are just outraged because we are not used to seeing big price tags on Spiders...yet.
I wonder if it drives as well as it looks?

On average spiders seems to be fetching higher prices in Canada. 72-74 spiders are ranging in price from $9000 to $11000 in good condition, mint condition are going for more. Seen some lower but in bad condition.

I think once Alfa Romeo opens their show room in Woodbridge Ontario. These cars will come back into favor and increase in value.

You guys are a bunch of critics. A person could easily spend $20,000 (plus the car) to do a complete mechanical, paint, and upholstery restoration. (I have more than that in my Berlina, for goodness sakes). If you love the color, than this is the car for you, if you don't love the color, it's not. Simple as that.
It amazes me that the nicer a car is, the more people try to find fault. When I drive an unrestored car I get tons of "cool car" compliments. But when I drive my restored Berlina, I get, "hey, did you see this chip in the paint?" or some other comment pointing out some imperfection, that I am painfully aware of.
I think it is amazing that so many people have invested so much of their precious time and money saving and restoring these cars.
The lime green is not my cup of tea, but if I were to see this car in person, I would definitely compliment the owner on a beautiful restoration.

I agree Jeff. The car looks great! Like you say if luv green then this car is prefect!
I hope Alfa's start to go up in value. I think on avergae the sell for far to low compared to the english cars.

OK, I'm duly chastised. It's his car, he can do what he wants and spend his money however he wants. BUT, when I see odd color choices and decorative flair, I have to wonder what other choices he made that don't show on the surface. That's all.

I can afford to be picky, because it's free, and I would expect people to be just as harsh with mine should I ever decide to sell it via that route
For all the $$ supposedly spent on a restro, you'd think a couple bucks woulda gone toward painting the airbox, cleaning out the hydraulic resevoirs, oh, and mabe getting some new not rusty as **** luguts. (mustsa been restored with 'patina' in mind.....)

I don't get it. I have seen wayyyyy uglier (stock) colors on Alfa's-I am not a fan of the white, cream, or yellow. I must be a peasant but I like that fresh and unusual green, why does it have to be stock/original color to be appreciated? And the cream interior blends well with the green, I have seen red interior in black cars, etc.

The color choice is certainly no 'worse' than some of the actual factory colors coming out of Detroit in the same era, like 'Grabber Green' and 'Hugger Orange' to name a couple.
It's nothing I would pick, but it's not all that bad. Just a bit 'loud' (I'm waiting to see one painted in chromillusion paint before I get all judgemental on peoples color choices )
Red interior in black car: whaddya know, the colors mine came the factory with
