Installing a starter relay
Two versions that will get the job done.
87 to starter solinoid blade connection (disconnect ignition switch wire)
86 to ignition switch wire that was disconnected from solinoid
85 chassis ground
30 12 Volt power: main battery cable at starter
87 to starter solinoid blade connection (disconnect ignition switch wire)
86 chassis ground

30 12 Volt power: main battery cable at starter
A relay of 30 amp capacity is satisfactory, and if a fuse is used, it should be 30 amps or less and installed in the #30 terminal wire.
Bosch relay p# 0 332 019 150 is a suitable 30amp relay that has the molded on tab on the body for mounting.

Vacuum ~ plenum nipples
Post by BattleBug w/pix, descriptors and dimensions of the vacuum nipples found on the intake plenum of the S3 L-Jet spiders. S4 Motronic are likely the same or simular.
Top to bottom nipple I.D. (at threaded end, not the end that hose plugs onto) and what it services:
1.9mm goes to fuel pressure regulator
1.4mm goes to oil vapor seperator
3.0mm or 3.1mm goes to charcoal canister in area behind right fender wheelwell panel (interchangable w/nipple at rear of plenum for vacuum sensor)

Discussion of, and solutions for the dreaded Starter Run-On condition specific to Spica cars cause by power backfeeding from the cold start solenoid. Link is to post #19, which describes the simplest solution, but the whole thread is worth reading.

Post from ghnl showing removal of the turn signal indicator on a dual pod dashboard. (it can be easily slid straight off the front rather than popped upward)
Sylvania 2721 is the replacement bulb.
