Polyurethane Bushings are easy!

Hey, polyurethane bushing installation is a breeze! I got the IAP trailing links without bushings so I could install the blue poly bushings. See photos.

I understand the rubber bushings are a pain to remove and require them to be pressed in. I avoided all that with my choices and ended up with great performance bushings. These things go in with bare hands, until you put the steel insert in. With the steel insert, only the last inch requires something like a screwdriver round handle end to help push it home.

I used the supplied lube to coat every surface. Plan ahead so you don’t run out, and that’s about all that’s needed. I used my fingers to smear it evenly everywhere parts meet parts.

It’s an easy process.

Here is the metal insert being installed.

Nice looking finished product. Installation to follow.

thanks for the photos. my mechanic suggest that these trailing arms and also the sway bars, are the the spots most likely to get something out of the poly bushings.

i just bought some

what concerns me is the lube, and the fact that squeeking will begin alot sooner than rubber. we will see

The lube is lithium based and you end up with a packet per end (couple teaspoons worth mabe) or at least that's how much used to come with them.

It's actually plenty quantity-wise, and there are grooves in the bushes to help retain a bit more of it in there rather than just letting it all squish out.

I've hand mine in for a couple years now and not a peep out of anything yet.

In addition, the trunion to differential bush is another really good spot for poly.

Not sure about what brands you are refering to, but I know PST and Global West supplied me with silicone grease. Either way, nice job on the arms!
