I will see if I can get a photograph of the mounting brackets. I tried APE for them and came up empty. So I fabricated my own brackets, with the help of a machine shop to cut and bend the metal. I used 1/4" plate and estimated the mounting holes. When I installed the brackets I had to modify the corners and holes to make the correct fit. The job was a bit frustrating as I had to hold the soft top in place while installing the bolts and bracket. Once I got one bolt started the rest was easy.

A word about the over center latches, do not put alot of tension on them as the bolts/screws that hold them to the hardtop are not all that strong. The tension on the top doesn't have to be alot, just secure.

The eary hard top for the 105 had a slip on affair similiar to a 101 spider mount molded as part of the cover plate. The very late S3 had a bolt arrangement that went into one of the screw holes on the cover plate. I haven't looked at my hard top to see if there is anything missing generally I just install and go.

I would like to find one like that on this side of the pond.
Today is your lucky day, provided you're immensely rich... There's one for sale in the UK with worldwide posting, but I think 195 pounds as a price is fairly revolting. Yet it's in good condition and even have the clamps that attach it to the windscreen (these are interchangable with those on the soft top, I never had two sets, just one; but who wants to bother?). So it MIGHT be worth it... decide, gentlemen :-)

No takers for the previous post?!... can't say I'm really surprised. Now, how about this one? It's cheap (EUR 1 right now), but in not-so-good condition. Hey, the other one was flawless! :-)
