Spider Engine Part Number

Any chance anybody has the ability to figure out factory part numbers? Im looking to try and get a hold of new internal lower timing gears for my 2.0l motor and would like to try and get the part numbers to see if maybe their is a slight chance their might be a new set out their somewhere. Car is a 1986 Spider.

Anyone over in Europe have connections to know if somewhere across Europe might have a new set?

Send a PM to PapaJam. He has the ability to decipher the engine numbers.

Send a message via Yahoo to papajam
Lower gear (Alfa calls it a 'pinion') - 116.08.03.107.00 (old number) - 60521572 (new number)
Idler gear - 116.55.03.013.03 (old) - 60522376 (new)

DiFatta lists the pinion.

Thanks to Alfisto Steve for recommending Trial Alfa in MI. He was able to source me a new pinion and it just showed up today in the original parts box. Looks awesome.

By chance does anybody know who the original parts manufacturer was for Alfa back then?

That's a VERY lucky find!

Question - does anyone know if all these internal timing gears are identical from the 1300-2000 engines, 105 to 116, regardless of part numbers??

Alex.

Ask Richard Jemison, Alfar7. He knows 2 L. The rest all interchange. Good question though. Over the years, I swapped a few around, and... it works!

Yea I wish I had the connections that he has. The part was even in the States too.

Now I have just have to hunt down the other unit in really good shape or find someone who has one sitting on a shelf and forgotten it.
