Steering box shaft (ZF)

I am trying to remove the steering arm (also called drop arm) from my steering box (ZF box, '88 Spider), with no success now. I use a good quality 2-arm puller, penetrating oil, etc etc.

Is the steering box shaft taper or straight ?

I believe it's a taper like the Burman boxes. What worked for me was to put the puller on the steering drop arm, put it under significant tension, soak it in penetrating oil, then the next morning tap the end of the rocker shaft with a hammer. Mine popped right off. If you hear a bang in the night, you'll know what it is.
