Repair Shop recommendation in Charlotte, NC

Hi Folks,

I just move down from Connecticut to Charlotte, NC and is looking for a Mechanic for my 69 Spider. My spider may need to have its valves rebuilt, the compression ratio is 105 lbs for the Cylinder 1, 2 and 3 and 150 lbs for cylinder 4. Is a Valve rebuild a difficult job for a novice DIY'er ?
Any recommendation for a repair shop is appreciated.

Thanks

Ryan

Closest Shop

Ryan,
I live in the Upstate of SC and like you have had a time looking for someone knowledgable to work on an Alfa when issues come up that are bigger than what I can handle.
I was given the name of Gary and John Balcomb in Matthews, NC...not far from Charlotte. I was told they know Alfa's, Lancia's and Fiat's very well. I have not used them myself, but you may want to call them (704) 847-7742. It may at least be a hopeful start for you.

Let me know if they maybe a solution to you. I'd be interested in case I may need their services one day.

Try Peter Krause @ Krause & England. There is a terrific head shop next door to him run by Dennis Shaw. Shaw is one of the premiere head builders on the East Coast.
