Search the site and you will find many good discussions on this. Study before you buy.

The one I am ordering is Redline Oil, 75W90NS, part number SS118, $10.95 each from Centerline Alfa Romeo (888) 750-ALFA

For a regular nonsynthetic, any decent quality 80W/90 or straight 90 should be fine. Some folks find synthetics improve the synchro action, others don't.

hos vs cold trans

syntetic vs dino makes a difference in cold weather.
I had shell spirax which was good until the cold weather set in.
I had changed to red line synt so that I could shift in freezing weather.

I've read on the forum that some gearboxes will leak with synthetic oil when they do not leak with regular oil.

Synthetic: redline 75W-90 NS (non-slip). Can be ordered from Centerline
Regular: Shell Spirax 80W-90 HD. Can be ordered from IAP

IAP also carries Redline 75W90NS. You will need 2 quarts.
