Question Heater-Defrost-AC question

Hi all: I am assembling an 84 spider from a pile of boxes and need a bit of direction with the heater and AC system. My wire diagram does not match what I seem to have. The lower console has an AC switch that will operate the fan with three speeds, and this works fine. A second green rocker switch is also present. This rocker will light an indicator on the speedometer(!) in two positions. I assume that the third position is off. I don't yet have an owners manual, so I can't be sure of the indended function. Anyway, the rocker switch has no effect on fan operation. Any tips as to how this system should work are much appreciated.

There are 2 separate fans -- the heater/defroster is not integrated with the A/C. The A/C only blows through the "eyeballs" in the console and dash - the heater only blows through the defrost dash vents and the heater vents in the footwell, and is controlled by the green switch.

If you don't have the heater/defroster fan working when you flip the green switch, it might be disconnected at the fan under the dash -- the light in the speedo is separately wired, IIRC.

Thanks! Never would have thought of that. I'll start digging around. Do I need to remove the AC blower to find the other fan?

If it is the same as on a Series 4 then the AC blower is on the right hand side of the car behind the knee padding, while the heater blower is behind the centre console, behind the gearstick.

For the first you have to remove the knee padding, the second is even harder to get to. The electric connections are accessible if you remove the panel on the left of the centre console though.
