Air Conditioning Hose Replacement

I need an a/c hose, which I am pretty sure is the low pressure hose from (or to?) the compressor from the evaporator inside the car. 1991 Spider, the hose broke off right at the connection to the compressor. Did a search here, found out I should try to have one made locally, looked in the yellow pages, and took the old hose to a place that says it makes A/C hoses. They said they did not have the proper fitting for the end of the hose, should try OEM. Can't post a a picture of that fitting right now, will do so later, but it is kind of a double fitting that allows the hose to come out at a right angle to the compressor. Does anyone have experience replacing this hose and did they end up using a different type of connection for the hose to compressor? I have not tried to see if any of our friendly parts suppliers have it, knowing the usual suspects (IAP, Centerline, etc.) do not.

i had ordered the last one 2 years ago guess UPS lost it. So you still can still resolder it. Good AC shop should be able to resolder it. That what i did.

If they give you excuses, go to another one, although, these guys are few and far between. Still......

You think an A/C shop is the way to go? I will look into that. I originally took theh ose now out of the car to a place that makes hoses, but as I said no dice.

Here is a picture of the fitting and the broken end of the hose that used to attach to that fitting.

Its exactlly where mine was broken. The only thing to watch that you will make quality resolder, otherwise it will ruttlle. Make sure also to put some good tread lock adhesive on the tread otherwise it will open.
