What is correct fuel pump for SPICA 1969

Hello

I have couple questions in regards correct fuel pump .
Mine looks like at least 20 years old and all looks like ready to go.
From what I understand it supposed to give pressure of 20 psi.
But Hella pump gives 45 psi and got 2 I thing hoses.
Mine has 3 but it also somekind aftermarket and not original.
The question what is the best scenario availble today ? for new pump.

Thx

Hi Greg,

the original pumps are not available, but a replacement one is. Take a look at Centerline's stock number FP262 and FP263. I have the Bosh (FP263) on my '69 and it works great.

Cheers,

Jeff

There is no FP262 or 263 currently listed. It jumps from 261 to 264. It says the 261 ( FP261 - Hella Fuel Pump - All Spica/Bosch-Injected Cars 1969-89, Spider 82-94 ) works for a 69.

Is the retrofit clean? Does it fit on the OE brackets and mountings witht eh noise dampers?

Thanks, Bruce

Interesting....you are right. FP262/263 doesn't show if you open their "online store".

But it DOES show if you open the "product catalog", which is the button below the online store. This is what I was looking at. Guess I don't know which they are actually selling.

from their description, it sounds like the Hella would be fine considering they (may have) switched to it from the Bosch, which is excellent. Give them a call. I believe they may also sell a bracket adapter, but it was minimal work to mount it. As I recall, I just wrapped the pump with a ring of gasket rubber to increase its diameter a bit.

Cheers,
Jeff

Send a message via Skype™ to Roadtrip
Go to www.wesingram.com/hp.htm and download the Fuel Diagnostics Guide. It will tell you about how to install a replacement pump.
