Question Help and Guidance Sought...

Can anyone assist me ?

I bought a second hand Series 4 Spyder in 1997 which I love. It has been very reliable and for many years been my primary vehicle up until 2000

It is in need of some loving restoration now

for starters

New mohair canvas
Some body work- I rear panel requires replacing and some respray work
Console is loose and missing screws
And some interior work on the fabric
New cables in the electric windows

Ideally I would like to bring the vehicle back to very high order

However am disillusioned with the mechanics and established London companies who have provided expensive and low quality repairs and restoration in the past.

Therefore am ideally seeking an individual with the skills and contacts to undertake this project. Someone with low overheads and a passion in this field who can work effectively and efficiently. Basically someone who is on my side.

If you can suggest a route forward with an individual whom you trust and respect their work please would you be kind enough to forward their details to me.

Many thanks

With Kind regards

Mark.

Mark.

Richard Drake in Norwich is VERY good for resto's as is Willows Garage in Suffolk (just done a white S4 & Guilla Super)

My mate does a lot of work on Alfas, I'll speak to him this weekend about it at the Chatham Alfa Spring Day on Friday.
He's just finished a complete rebuild of an Alfetta Saloon & GT Junior. Though he his very funny about working on other peoples cars.

RE your loose console (assuming speedo & tacho console), there are 2 screws that hold the console to the lower front of the dashboard, but there are 2 large plastic threaded bezel nuts that screw the back of the console up against the back of the Dash - these have the 2 cable looms going through them.

I think you can buy full carpet sets & seat covers from EB spares.

I can understand your frustrations about finding someone to work on your spider. It took me 2 years to find someone I was happy with (those 3 above).

hope to see you at Chatham if your going (I'll be in the Maroon Spider)
