Considering that the TA is somewhat new, you should probably remove it from the car and test it in a pot of heating water and check the extension is to spec. If it is weak, then it's not allowing the engine to go to normal running mixture. To compound the problem, when the TA is enriching the mixture, it allows the CSS to richen the mixture even more (sensing a cold engine). When the engine is hot, and the TA extended normally, the CSS enriches very little for start.
As a temporary measure until you can bench test the TA and/or install the Sure-Start I sent you, I'd recommend that you just disconnect the CSS altogether and tape over the feed wire so it doesn't short anything out. It may have to crank the engine a little more to start it from cold, but my experience is that the difference is not significant.
Also, if you're having problems with your TA and you can't get a replacement right away, you can always just install a dummy TA in the injection pump and run with that. Be sure to secure the bottom end of the TA to something so it doesn't flex around and break. Again, cold starting may be a little more difficult, but in temperate climates, the difference isn't that much, from my experience.
