Spider (69) Top Hold Down Strap

Biba, here are some snaps of the top hold down parts. The metal hook where the rear parcel shelf meets the rear "firewall", the strap with "D" ring, the strap showing (poorly) 5" each of the two mating strips of Velcro sewn on, and the little piece of hooked Velcro over a metal tab that screws onto the lip below the parcel shelf to retain the strap when the top is up and the strap is loose. If you need any dimensions let me now.

The handle attachment brackets are metal underneath and there is a black plastic cap that slides over the metal bracket. Regards, Bruce

Bruce, thanks for these photos. Not saying your one handle cap isn't plastic, but at least the 69's were originally metal. Note: screwdriver is slightly magnetized and doesn't have glue on the tip.

Zippered top is on order. Thanks for letting me know about it.

Biba

My caps are plastic, S/N 1480323. May have been metal later. My cinch-down bracket was also a smaller metal looped piece versus the bracket thingie above. I posted some pics here. Have refinished them now but not installed on the new top.

Will post final pics of the new top and frame resto when I finish the trim.

At higher speeds the lowered and loose window flaps around a bit in the rear (hangs down). I thought it would flap out the rear window (open). Need some way to secure it a bit. Have not given it the rain test yet but it sure gets some air circulating throuhg. So far, so good.
