there are also remarks in oil pressure threads about drilling a small hole in the back of the sender, aperently oil leaks by the diaphram in the sender and messes up the reading sometimes. I would only use this as a temporary fix till a new sender got here.

OK, so today, instead of reading almost zero at idle then 57 ish when driving, it reads 57 at idle AND the same when driving, so it stays 57 all the time. Is it time for lancing to prevent an internal hemmorage on my sensor Alfacliff?

Can I now trust this gadget ?

Both my 91 164S and the 94LS have the "drilled" oil pressure senders, and they have worked fine for years now, with not enough leakage to ever measure or drip anywhere. I once put a fitting in the sender canister and attached a clear plastic fish tank hose to see what would come out. Nada for the year I had it attached. The one in our Milano is slowly beginning to die, so one day that will also get the treatment. Beats spending $40+ for a new sender every once in a while.
