Tuning Webber carbs

This is Catch. New guy on the block would like some help tuning the Webbers on my 79 Spider. Hope you will share your best method of a quick tune for them and how often you do it. The car seems to run very well but shows a slight surge on and off at times at about 50 mph. Smooths out up into the illegal speeds. I run the old points Marelli dist.with an MSD Box that really gives me a good spark and the points seem to last forever. Thanks

Welcome to the BB.

If they're in decent condition, Webers hold their adjustment well--you don't need to mess with them often. Check the "carburetors & fuel injection" forum for threads on set-up and tuning.

Also,
Haynes has a good reference book on the care and feeding of Webers.

Webers

Look for 2 small paperbacks: Weber Carburetors Theory, and
Weber Carburetors Tuning and Maintenance. Author is John Passini.
I bought mine from a carbooks site in the early 80's so don't know if they are still available. If you can find them then read, read and read.
