I had lots of time to clean up the engine bay up while the engine was out being rebuilt. It wasn't repainted but I did do some paint touch ups.
For the touch ups I use a scratch pencil with glass fibers to remove any rust, primer the bar metal then use the color match touch up paint.
I don't know what the engine builder did to get the engine so clean but I maintain it with straight "Purple Power” varies sizes and shapes of bristle brushes and then rinse it with water. Can't leave the "Purple Power" on very long and you have to make sure you get it all off during the rinsing.
Ohh.......I usually have the cam cover off a couple times a year too and when it's off I polish it.
