Others in flock going south??

Well, thanks to all that supplied information concerning the
odometer.
Staying close to home, would like some opinions on the
other gauges.
Tach working fine as far as I can tell.
Gas gauge works fine.
Alternator gauge shows good voltage and changes with
various conditions.

Oil pressure---zilch from the day I picked it up, must have
pressure, drove it from Nashville to Louisiana. Idiot light
comes on after sitting a few days, but goes off quickly.
Doesn't bother to come on when restarting after a short
time, guess this is normal. Any suggestions??????

Temp gauge---- doesn't do much when you first start, but
as engine heat up, it does ocillations from max to min.
When it is not going wild, it has small movement around
the temp I suspect the engine should be at.
Sensor, sender or gauge? Give it your best shot.

I guess having 4 out of 7 working ain't that bad.
Houston in Louisiana

What year Spider is it? If you include that in your profile, it helps a lot.

Oil pressure and water temp gauges are variable resistance grounding types.
If you take the single electrical lead that normally goes to the sending unit and ground it, the gauge should go full scale (high) defection. If it doesn't then there's something wrong with the gauge. If it DOES go full scale, then it's probably the sending unit fault . . . . or a hard fault in the engine. The oil pressure warning light should come on anytime the engine is off and the key switch is on. It signifies less than 5 psi oil pressure. It is NOT good to drive around relying on the warning light alone. If your engine is only producing 10 psi at freeway speeds, you'll probably damage it. The oil pressure gauge sending unit is on the right rear side. The warning light sender is on the left side next to the filter. To test the warning light, just ground the lead to the sensor . . . the light should come on.

If the temp gauge is erratic, that sounds like a bad connection. Check the connection at the sending unit, in the manifold close to the thermostat outlet.
