Blocked water passages?
I got my engine block back from the machine shop today. Looking down into the block by where each cylinder liner goes, next to each head stud, is what looks like a water passage. By the second pair of studs are round holes, by the third are triangular holes, by the fourth are round holes again, and by the fifth pair of studs are triangular holes. Do these go anywhere, or are they blind passages? Most of mine seem to be blocked with this white chalky corrosion. I've been scratching and chipping away at it, but I don't know how far the holes go. Will I bottom out, or do these lead somewhere? I think I'm going to remove the head studs both to clean them off and to get better access inside the block.
