Windshield

Hello,

Does anybody know where I can buy on the net a windshield
( something like BMW Z3 or others have) for my spider '87?
The reflection of the wind does give me too often pain in
the neck the day after driving with open top.
I ordered allready last year one here in Belgium from a german
company called "D&W" but it didn't fit, a waste of money!!!!
Therefore I ask people who have experience with it.

Greetings,

Marino.

No direct experience, but have heard that Spider Point (in germany) has a nice one, at a good price.

One of the guys in our club made one from copper tubing and plexiglass...sounds hokey, but if I hadn't been told it was home made, I wouldn't have known. Cost him about $20 in materials, and he says it works just like the commercial ones do. An Alfa guy has to love a solution like this! -P-

Took my own advice and made one! 24" X 48" sheet of 1/4" plexiglass and an hour or so. Total cost $28!
Pix to follow.

Here's the one I made, it really does make a difference at higher speeds. Driving at 40 or 50 I didn't notice it that much. I was doing 75 on the highway today and it made a world of difference.

Wind deflector

I was going through one of the catalogs at home and found that Mattig manufactures a wind deflector for all Alfa Romeo Spiders.

Part #10ALFA1001 for 67-94 Spider, no drilling required - List $399

Part #10ALFA1002 for 95> Spider, drilling required.

I personally don't know where to find the Mattig products, the catalog I was looking at is from Tuning Zubehor, page 245

At least it's not from "Tuning Uber *****"! You need heavy duty protection for that place.
