Re-upholster for 88 spider not available?

I've checked centerline and IAP...neither carries re-upholstery for the 88 spider graduate. No seats, and no door panels. What gives?

Did you actually speak with them, and the said they didn't carry this? I'm asking because I know IAP carries four colors (black, brown, tan and red) for the Graduates (that's what they have most) for both seats and door panels... Or are you looking for a different color?

Best regards,

Best regards,
No, I didn't speak with a sales rep. I could not find it on their online search or catalog.

I've read good things about Duramend in Ohio. I was reading that someone got a complete re-upholster job done on seats and door panels in leather for approximately 700 dollars. Sounds like a good deal!

Try this page at IAP for seats and this page for the same at Centerline. (hit 'next' at the bottom of the page to show door panels)

Granted you'll have to speak to a human to ensure you get the right seat type (the bottom cushion had 2 different shapes depending on a couple variables which is where confusion can arise as Grads carried the same seat type through almost the entirety of the S3) and color may or may not be an option, but what you seek does exist.

I'm not familiar with Duramend, but the price you mention would be a spectacular deal. Where did you read this? Is this for an Alfa Spider?

As Tifosi indicated, the kits you are looking for are in the on-line catalogs of both Centerline and IAP. A big factor is color, as some are very easy to find, and some are not.

Best regards,

Duramend was the shop that did my door panels and seats for $700.
The seats look better now than in the pictures as time has passed and the puckers have now smoothed out.

Todd,

How long did it take Duramend to complete your project? I"m trying to estimate the downtime for my car.

It took about 3-4 weeks. I did all the disassembly and just handed them the seat pieces and the door panels, so this saved a lot on labor. All they had to do was recover these pieces. I then did all the reassembly work and installed them back in the car. I also got somewhat of a price break on the material as it came from hides they already had in their shop that they bought from a shop that was going out of business. The hides happen to perfectly match my new carpeting from Re-Originals perfectly. The initial quote was $843.88, but that was if it took 3 hides. They ended up only needing 2 hides so I was reimbursed $100 for one hide. So the total cost was $743.88.
