Golf Clubs in a Spider

Sorry you missed the humor ..... I believe most of the responses, although, I didn't go back and take an exact count were referring to trunk storage except where it was otherwise stated as parcel shelf or passenger space.

But then what do I know, I'm not a math major and would not attempt to calculate the available area of the behind the seat storage or the trunk space as it correlates to the shape and size of a specific golf bag and clubs, although, that is an item that I have gotten in the trunk of a spider along with other things at the same time.

Not in the trunk - at least if you want to close it. You might get one bag in the trunk if you take out the woods and pack them separately. This car is better suited for tennis.

I am able to get two bags, shoes, shagbag, bottle of wine, gallon of water, windbreaker, and my greensfee into the trunk. These are not regular bags, but what are called 'day bags'. Tight but they fit.

Maybe Brian thought he was on the Mercededs bb by misteak.
Top up or top down would make a difference in trunk space on their 'Spiders'.

Most definitely!!!

I can get in my spider:

1) 2 full sets of clubs
2) 2 walking bag carriers
3) 2 pairs of shoes & towels
4) Beer...

Although I will admit, I take the woods out of the bags and lay them behind the seat and I take the wheels off the bag pull carts... but it all fits nicely if you are creative.

This description is with a series 3 spider e.g. 83-90 spider. I have even more trunk space in my early 70's spider...

If you played the game Tetris as a kid, you should have no trouble.

Cheers
Martin.

PS... Just a thought... why dont we find out where we all are and get an Alfa Romeo Golf outing going???

How much do you want to bet that item #4 is in the keg size and is lying or sitting in the back seat with the woods?

Yes, something else I've hauled in my '73 Spider over the years.....much easier in the Suburban, though, and when empty, easier on the back, if the truth be told.

I don't play golf well in snow or on ice with fluorescent balls. The convention chairs are always looking for something that makes the convention attractive to all, including those that aren't die hard racers, concoursers etc.; enter jewelry making and quilting.....why not a round of golf for those interested? I'm sure the schedule could be "torqued" or fine tuned some to meet the interest if enough requests were received, if not this year at future conventions.

I can get 1 golf bag on a cart with the wheel off in my trunk. Still room for my shoes though. My 77 spider seemed to have more room in the trunk than the S4's.

Nicola,

I carry just enough #4 on the back nine to not care what I did on the front nine.. LOL.

Ah Golf... a mistress that delivers almost as much joy and anguish as our Alfas.

Cheers
Martin.

Some one with Pat's game of golf in mind. When you lose the fluorescent ball or have exceeded the number of strokes you allowed yourself for that hole, you simply pick up your ball and move on. He did play in more difficult conditions than I did in California, therefore, the use of the fluorescent balls.

dot, you didn't say which series of Spider it is. If a Duetto/Round-Tail you could get a whole herd of golf bags in the trunk.

Okay showing off a bit (work in progress).

It's easy to put 2 sets of golf clubs in an Alfa spider if one set knows how to double clutch a 5 speed.
