I think Chuck is pretty close on his drawing. I think the line weight of the two borders is too thick. The border around FISPA should be much thinner. I'd like to try and work with you on this, if possible. Rossano, your air box has more of it left than mine, so you should be involved too. Lets' do this off-line. Chuck, if you are interested in pursuing this with me and Rossano, please PM us both and we can get cracking.
I've just started talking with someone local about getting some of the other decals/stickers made. I will ask if there is some other form of transfer for the FISPA "sticker". Decals, like we used to use on our model airplanes may be a solution. My preference is still a rubber stamp and paint. But first, we need to get it laid out correctly.

Thanks for the pics, I never knew what the missing digit was on my 1967 label.

You're right - the line weights were too thick. I've been working the label some more, checking with the labels on my air box for reference. To really appreciate the scale of these labels, it helped to compare them directly. These labels are small and the printing even smaller! I think this is version is what we have been working towards, but comments are always welcome regarding further revisions if needed. I've posted them in jpg format. My originals are about 250K but the BB compressed them. I don't know how they will look posted, but PM for better resolution jpgs if interested.
I posted the labels in both black and yellow versions. The yellow would be for direct printing and the black for having a stamp made. I really like the idea of making a stamp, since that is how it was done originally.

These look better. I was wanting to print them out and hold them up to the air box. I've been wondering if there is some other method by which to transfer the lettering to the box. I believe they were painted on like a silk screen. I'll bet that there is an alternative that would just apply the lettering and no clear sticky like a decal or label.

I ran downstairs and snapped a picture of my air box. I overlayed your drawing and got this. What's left of mine is so worn, it's hardly visible.

I don t think a rubber stamp will work for some as there are those three ribs running around the girth of the box as shown in photo on page 1 above. Will need to be silk screened or a decal for them. Do you now all have those air box ribs? Bruce

I'll bet $10 it's a sticker from the engine builder.

Actually, it's a $3000 sticker form the engine rebuilder and the engine/tranny work (12k but long ago) was free !! Ha! (Bill Stevens in Newport Beach, CA.) Actually, it's a Shankle head prep sticker with his head rebuild type info from a more recent head rebuild. See this post, #63 ( LINK).
Thanks for the compliment. I hate to look at dirty rusty things. More work to do after lewtting her sit for 6 years recently when life got busy. Many mechanicals were not happy either. As I've said before I fined you photos instructive but they make me really sick it is so nice and clean . . . bad envy. Other pics linked in Signature.
