Are you gonna do the full shampoo, polish, and Remington fuzz-away job on the rug first? I know some people thinks it's overkill, but every crumb of dirt adds up to significant extra weight, and also nothing feels nicer to touch than a freshly cleaned and shaved carpet.

wash-rinse-repeat..wash-rinse-repeat...wash-rinse-repeat.. that what the shampoo bottle say's....when do i stop?..then i am going for a 50% shave on the carpet..that should be good enough for an extra 5-8 horespower.....hum.. i wonder..which carpet colour is faster... red carpet..or black carpet.. i am looking for the fastest carpet

Black rubber is WAAAAY faster than any carpet you have Mr. White1. I'm guessing the weight-savings alone will torque you off. Everybody knows torque wins races.
