Welcome to the BB, pacabear!

My first interest were British cars, and I have always liked the TR6, MGB, and Spitfire. I actually got to drive all three, as I had friends who had them. However, all it took was one drive in the topless Italian beauty, and I was a convert...

Best regards,

I'm also a British , and Italian auto nut, that lives close to Waupaca (Green Bay). If you ever make a trip to G.B. stop by, or Elkart Lake Races.

sounds good....when the weather lets us back out of hibernation i will.I want to cruise thru door county this spring before it gets to nuts!
I have yet to find all the quirks in the alfas but i am learning...I am shifting much better now...2nd gear is touchy..i have learned to take it all the way out of 1 gear and hold a sec then procceding to the next in a deliberate manner helps.I have a trunk support bracket to remove and bend back other wise very little to tinker with on them.I will have to go tru all the hoses next.
thanks for the note

Greetings from the UK....

My brother and I are great Alfa fans, him with his GTV6 and me with my US import '89 Spider. My brother also has a gorgeous Triumph TR6, and he's going to sell one of them. My vote, to be honest, is for him to keep the Triumph. Everything is so available for it over here, whereas the GTV6 just has too many things starting to go wrong - Inner wings starting to rot, sunroof won't seal, propshaft making strange noises (any ideas?) and more. Despite the problems, I think he'll keep the GTV6. Strange though, I think that if we were in the US, things would be the other way around......

What's the opinion over in the US?

hi good to hear from you... in the usa the alfas are rarer and under valued and harder to get some one who knows anything about them except experts!!who charge up the ying. the tr6 is making a big comeback here in value just a couple of years ago a good example fetched $6,000 now $16-20 for a redone one..gtvs are cheap but all torn up and rusty if it hasnt been saved yet!

just my opinion shane
