Ever encounter this with new seat belts?

Yet another project....got new seat belts from Westco, (same supplier for IAP, at 30% less), and they are v nice...smooth. BUT, I go to attach the clip piece, that 10" long clip positioned near the driver's hip, and upon taking out the old one, it hit me.....2 elec wires (for the warning sensor, I guess). New clip does not have , apparently, receptacles for these wires. Should I just cut them off, and wire together, making for a closed loop circuit, or what??

Thanks, guys. AGAIN! (never worked so hard on Christmas!)

If any cutting is to be done, you might want to do it on (off?) the old receiver.

That way you can use it's plug and do whatever fidgeting with the wires you want post-connector leaving your stock plug on the car harness end of things untampered and avialable should you (or anyone after you) decide to go back to factory stuff with the seatbelt sensor gizmo built in.

The old receiver? What is that? Yeah, keeping the old intact is good. Should I "follow" the wires down into the oblivion of the carpet and maybe find where they connect and unscrew intact, ya think??

The receiver is the clip your talking about.

You know, the part that receives the buckle of the belt and holds it until you press the release button.

Isn't there a connector like right there on the old part you took off?

If so, that's what I'd cut off and do the tinkering with then plug it back onto the exisiting main harness plug.

Ok, I get it. Yeah, the receiver (clip) looks like it just has to be yanked out, maybe torn. Ill have to inspect again in the morning to decide. Thing is, the NEW one does not appear to be able to be taken apart. Kinda likemolded all into one. Sheesh. Thanks, I will update you..........good night!
