Old Spider Handling issues

Hi,

Would appreciate tips on identifying what is going on with my spider and whether what I am experiencing is normal for the car.

The car tracks straight. Had all new rubber bushes, bearings and ball joints(except for the reaction triunion mounting to the frame). running on stock springs and on red koni set 3/4 from soft at front and full soft at rear.

When I do fast sweeping turns at about 60mph, the car would roll and in the process of rolling, i can feel the car loading up going into the corner except that it felt light at first and then it just loads up not exactly in a progressive way. At the beginning of the turn, it would feel light and slightly vague which is a little scary since I'm not sure what the car is doing So it remains light for a while then it starts to load up almost immediately. but once it loads up, it feels really sure footed which then gives me the confidence to plant my foot deeper and push the car harder through the bend. Throughout the process, the car would stick to its line faithfully. The same would happen when I sweep in the other direction.

My car is really quite light to steer on the move even at low speed but it tracks straight at all times. Its a little sensitive to bumps in that I can feel it in the steering wheel but I am not sure if there is much bump steer though, perhaps some but not enough to frighten me unless its a very big bump I think.

Oh, there is about 1ish inch of play in the steering wheel. I have the recycling ball box not the ZF one. I have not determined if the play is in the box ( though I have adjusted it for slack from 3 inches to about 1ish to 1.5 inches by removing shims). I have not looked into the Idler arm though I suspect that that might need renewing. All the tie rods are relatively new and appears to be tight.

When I travel fast above 60 mph, the car feels grounded only when changing directions would feel light but it does not really give that floating feeling. I have only ever taken the car up to 85-90mph on faster longer distance drives and it still feels pretty planted such that I could take long highway sweeps without feeling worried. But tighter high speed sweep would give that lightness feel in the roll which is slightly vague until it loads up.

Would tyre pressure be an issue too? I am going to change to new tyres soon as mine though still legal is getting thin. They are old firestone firehawk - going to change to the newer firestone firehawk Indy 500 tyres within the next 2 weeks.

Any ideas on how to improve the car will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks alot
