thanks Chris.. good idea about shielding from water. I have an xtra set of kick panel covers so I think I will try and see what I find. Thinking about putting the stereo in the glove box and leaving the blockoff plate in place.
Sorry to get off on this!
Love your new Duetto Richard. Great fun owning boatails. Fantastic treasure to have in your garage. Looks to be in very nice shape and should come up to a real beauty very easily. Hope to see it buzzin around at a convention soon.

Welcome to the Duetto club.
I've had 4 1/2 years of pleasurable driving so far from my '67.
... and definitely put the plexi headlight covers back on. The car was designed that way, and imho, looks better that way. Who are we to second guess Pinin Farina?

I do have plexiglass covers, but the hardware is missing.

The hardware is in stock with many vendors, try Alfa Romeo Parts and Spares www.highwoodalfa.com who has everything. Great company and alfista.

Thanks for the info
Thanks for the info. I will check on it.
Duetto to be picked up by shipper on Thursday. Then 2 week wait after that.
Still may get the 1969 RHD 1750 Spider in boxes, but with paint /bodywork done. Will know in a month or so.

I put new speakers in my '67 Duetto a year or so ago. They aren't big, but I got them up under the dash (where you can't see them). Net result is that there is no intrusion into the interior leather/plastic/whatever.
Although the speakers aren't high quality stereo, I decided that given the wind noise (and this car spends a lot of time with the top down), that an adequate sound quality was more important than altering the interior visibly.
regards
Greg

Here's how the PO mounted speakers when I bought my Duetto. Very interresting design and execution
All better now
I will probably put speakers behind the seats later. Nothintg better than driving an Alfa and listening to Bocelli!!!!

Hardtop resting on body
A photo of Duetto prior to pick up by shipper with hardtop attached on front. Not attached at rear, just sitting on rear section.

About loudspeakers, I use a pair of these, I just placed them under the hood behind the seats on the wall. Easy to install and remove, no need to cut a lot of holes in the Duetto.

Thanks Willie,
I spent this Saturday rebuilding a distributor and getting a 1972 Lambo Espada's engine running after over 10 years of being parked. He is not very auto mechanic knowledgeable. He is Italian, so I had to help him. The engine runs great.
This is my relaxation, working on Italian cars for my friends and me.
Waiting patiently.....
