, personally I accelerate hard far more often than I brake hard! Actually I've never even used the rack, but can't remove it because of the mounting holes.

I'd forgotten about this until I saw your post... Black is OEM. They were offered in both black and chrome.
Best regards,

I have a factory version on mine that came with it.
It is mounted with thru-bolts to the cross bracing under the lid and is very strong and stable.
I have left it on for 5 years now and I love both the look and the utilitarian nature of it when needed. Having a couple of bags or suitcases tied to it when I do long trips makes me feel a little more like I'm touring than traveling.
Go for it!

The answer is obvious, and it matter not where he's going... What matters is that she's going with him, and can take what she wants.

They are installed correctly.
Use leather straps or bungee cords to hold the luggage in place.
The photo below is not a wicker basket, but "her" purse.
I get the space behind the seat for tools
I'd like to find an original for the Alfa as they do come in handy to keep "her" stuff in on trips

It may be awhile since the baby is in the shop for accident repair.
I will look through my files and see if I have any shots of the rack and the mount.

Bill,
No hurry, and I can wait a long time. I bought a used OEM rack, but of course, it didn't come with the mounting hardware and I don't know these pieces. I'm the "collecting parts" phase in preparation for a future tear down and restoration of my '74 Spider...
Best regards,

it was the luggage rack!! that was the second item that you GANKED me for on ebay. now i remember.
god i hate you so much, zunige.
i do, however, really want to find one for my 74' . i just think it would look perfect.
if theyre drill-through, i cant even imagine why they need to be OEM. i mean, any rack can be drilled-and-mounted.
so which retailers have a good selection of racks for any vehicles? and are there any documented best-practices in how to install (drill) into your boot-lid without creating 4 new leaks or rusted holes in your bonnet?

I called.
It is the black color
It was purchased from the dealer back in the day.
It may not be the original Alfa rack, but a dealer accessory at it has the 4 cross bars (versus the 5 on the original Alfa rack) plus 1 vertical to keep the luggage from sliding off the rear.
It will definitely fit Series 3 cars, but might look a little short on a Series 4 car.
I'm looking for a chrome one, so give the guy a call. It seems like a very good price.
