Hey, that's not a red tab, that's an expansion plug for putting screws into plaster or sheetrock

The radiator has been removed and the a/c coil pushed forward alittle to afford better access. But, the real problem remains the nut. The forward thread helps, as I wasn't sure if I was actually attempting to tighten or loosen the darn thing to start with. I have been liberal with the brake free as well. I will check on the washer next. Thanks.

The crank pulley nut is typicaly quite difficult to remove. Put transmission in 4th or th speed, apply hand brake &/or have assistant apply brakes, use a long breaker bar and apply lots of CCW force (it is regular right hand threads).

An impact wrench is mighty useful here...
