Help with water pump!!!!!!!!

Hello , I am in the process of replacing the water pump on my 78 spider. I have removed all the hoses, radiator , belts and bolts. I even removed the two lower studs on the waterpump. The problem is that I still can't remove the pump It moves a bit but it seems stuck. Do I have to remove the 2 bolts on the tach drive? Help!!

Must have missed a bolt. How many bolts/studs have you removed?

Patyz -

Do you mean it is frozen to the block? There is a timing pointer on the lower end, I believe, that may be hitting something. Don't force anything yet. Go around a few more times and make sure you haven't forgotten anything. I would think if it's moving a little bit, but not breaking free, then there is something else holding it on somehow.

And yes, there should be 9 nuts, if memory serves, of course not sure what's correct for your '78
