Yeah, I've got 'em on my Spider. They seem to work quite well wet and dry.
I'm assuming you're not planning on driving in snow with them...that would probably be a bad idea.

The AVS ES100 is a good tire and seems well suited to the Spider chassis.
They are not the stickiest but have good breakaway characteristics and are easy to control when driving at the limit.

i heard that these tires are "loud" - according to tirerack recommendations.

Joe,
What would you say are the stickest? I have them (205/60X14) on my GTV. When I bought them 4 years ago they were rated by tire rack as the best (and almost the only) high performance tire available in their size. What do I buy next?

For this very reason I moved up to a 15" wheel a few years ago on my GTV, and some S4 Spiders have 15" wheels standard. While the selection in 205/55-15 isn't great, there are several good high performance choices that would be stickier - including the newer Yokohama S.drive, the Toyo Proxes T1-R, and the BFG G-Force Sports.

I think you can still get the Falken Azenis in a 195/60/14. I have a set of these for track duty on my non-Alfa, and I think they're fantastic. I reluctantly switched back to my all seasons yesterday. My Spider has the Yokohamas and they don't have anywhere near the grip of the Azenis.

My only gripe with them is the sizes they are available in (195/60-14 and 205/50-15) are IMHO a little bit too short for 105/115 series Alfas.

i had fulda tires on my saab and loved them. i dont think they make them in the usa anymore. anyone have them on their spiders?

the old AVS had abit of noise but they wre just big chunks of rubber. the new avs es100 have no noise I can tell. I have then on both my cars. the old avs was like driving on ice if it was wet very very scary. the new avs es100 seem to stick almost as well wet as dry. and they seem to last when you push them hard vs other tires.
I have never used a Azenis but evey other tir I have used I hated compaired to the avs
