I'm with you brother. Crashed my first Alfa 41 years ago and bought another this year. Crashed a 1300 Giulietta Spider after pulling an all nighter courting my first wife. This just before leaving for boot camp in 1967. Uncle was calling up troops for his Vietnam adventure.

Pictures....we need pictures !
Not my first alfa, but we drove it on our honeymoon 31 years ago !
Bought my first Alfa ( a '58 Sprint Veloce for $210, a driver ) when I was 18, so no midlife crisis for me.
Maybe this is a lifelong crisis ;^)

Another "Boomer" Heard From
Bought my first Duetto in the mid-70's when it was just an old car. Keep it forever, even though the body was junk and I tore it apart before meeting my wife (and never getting back to putting it together again.) Now have another Duetto that is in one piece and runs, but is not road worthy (Needs brakes, lights, etc.) and a 164Q that is my summer daily driver. I guess I was looking for a fun sports car in the 70's, and the Alfa was it. As I near retirement, I can see getting at least one Duetto back on the road, but in the meantime, I'm "restomoding" my 164Q.
See you all at the Convention with the Q!

Maybe it's Fred casting his vote from the great beyond. I really miss him.

Randy,
Your Alfa is just plain flat out gorgeous! That body style will always be the best looking Alfa ever built! Being red makes it perfect!
Congrats, Robert

Over the last 100 years, average lifespan has doubled. Molecular biologists have found aging to be controlled by only a handful of genes and we are learning how to tweak these, so predictions are that lifespan will double again over the next 100 years.
The way I look at it, I'm in a race with my car. Oxidative stress will either take me or the floor of my car first. Since I still smoke, I'm giving my car at least a fighting chance.

"Molecular biologists have found aging to be controlled by only a handful of genes"
So have they started isolating the gene which makes one suseptible to Alfista? Considering the numbers, it must be a pretty rare gene. I wonder if it is heart shaped?

I am 47 & a typical baby boomer that can now enjoy some of the finer things in life. I count each of my Alfas as a gift from above. Smiles... I have owned many cars and currently own several non Alfa cars that should float my boat. Nothing does it for me like a properly tuned Alfa on a wound up country road. Ciao
