Question rough idle...'81 spider

g' afternoon...i posted earlier this week about a high idle upon ignition that lasts about 1-2 minutes..thx all to those who read and/or replied...i discovered that the throttle (small throttle next to cig. lighter..above e-brake) seems to be broken..broken as in it is disconnected at about 2 inches in..could this a cause to the high idle?? what does this look like under the hood..can it be manually adjusted..thx..

it is a cable that pulls on the same linkage as the foot throttle. when the foot throttle is pushed, the hand throttle end slipps over the foot throttle cable.
have someone inside the car (with the engine off for safety) step on the gas and watch the linkage behind the engine move, if theres a problem, it should show up.
