1974 spider trim on side of car- removal

Does anyone know how the ugly side trim is attached on a 74 spider, and if it can be removed without repainting the car. Thanks for your help. Richard

You might try some monofilament fishing line. Work the line under one end of the trim and gently use it to "saw" through the adhesive. 3M makes a trim adhesive remover which will soften the adhesive while not damaging the paint, so soaking the trim first might help (along with some gentle heat). If it's a second layer of paint over the original, it's almost a sure thing the paint will be damaged.

On my 76 it was riveted on which does require body repair if removed.
