car cover recommendations?
i am looking at purchasing a custom car cover for my 92 spider veloce.
i do not want one of those "one size fits all" covers - looking for a custom fit.
i will not be using the cover outside - cover would be used primarily inside a garage so i would just need something dust repellant.
international auto has one for $165.
any other recommendations?
how about the ones on ebay for about $50?
thanks.

I've got the Dustsop one from IAP. Works very well for keeping dust/pollen off the car, and it's nice and lightweight. Indoor only, though...you don't want it getting wet.

A Noah cover from www.bigskycarcovers.com, if you need something for outdoors. Each of my cars has it's own. Been using them (the covers and the vendor) for at least 10 years now.

I have an Evolution 4 cover. The car is also parked in a garage. I have had the cover for about 8 years and it has served me well.
I wash it every year but I think I will replace it this year. I will go with the same cover....maybe in blue.
It is a custom cover with mirror pockets. I also like the thickness of it to prevent a mark if something hits against the car (though it does not fold up too neatly).

Actually, while not exactly a "one size fits all," I got this for times away from home when I cover the car outside a motel room. You buy it by the length of the car and BION, this is pretty much an exact fit and price is about half of a custome cover. I got it from either Summit or Jegs.

I'm with Gubi -
Dustop is wonderful. My car is garaged so I only needed a really high quality indoor cover. Dustop is lighweight and very soft. I purchased mine from another on-line (non-Alfa) supplier for about $20 less than IAP including the storage bag.

Over the years I have used various of the well known brands. They all make a custom fit for the different Spider versions. The best I've had (and still have) is a Noah cover (this one is made by Wolf). It is very versatile, and extremely durable. I like the fact that the material is lighter than the Evolution yet it breathes and works well both indoors and outdoors. I take mine on overnight trips. You can buy these on ebay for less than $150 (much cheaper than anywhere else), including shipping. The only thing I would caution against is paying the extra $$ to get the cover bag. I find that these bags are always too small, and you get a much better bag by buying a stuff sac from a camping store.
Best regards,

I also have a Wolf "Noah" (ebay). My '91 lives outside here in SoCal, and it protects it quite nicely. It's a good fit, and keeps most weather and dust out.

They describe it as : MADE FROM A NON SCRATCH MATERIAL . I can't image what your gunna get for 25 bucks. I'd sooner cover it with a couple of old (cleaned and washed) bedsheets than use WETF that non-descript material is

No custom cover is cheap, but you can get a decent price from one of the ebay sellers. Here is one that would fir your series 4 Spider: 91-94 ALFA ROMEO SPIDER VELOCE WOLF NOAH CAR COVER. I bought from this company, and have been very happy with the price, quality and durability. (I use this cover quite a bit.) I also bought an outdoor research stuff sac (#5), as I find that they are better than the bags typically sold (for extra $$) with the car covers.

Please keep in mind that no cover will keep all dust off your pride and joy, and that the "indoors only" cover, the "duststop", is probably the best for garage dust, but the Noah is also very good.
Best regards,

Enrique,
Does the cover on your Spider offer dent resistance (understood within reason of course!)? That is why I like the Evolution but it is time to replace it and I am tempted by the Wolf cover.
Thanks,
Rob
