LOL, well at least you'll have a cooler jacket than him-just skip the enormous helmet and you will be trendy!

For those interested, the liscense plate LED light bar looks like this installed....The third brake light still does not work, but did discover it does get +voltage when the brakes are on, just no ground, will be rewiring that as well so at least all works.

Is the new systems from Jacobs different? Where can I find the best one? I like those lights as well, where did you pick those up?

This is not a simple answer. I hate Mr. Gasket, they raped a many good companies after buying them out. Accel, Hotrod ware, etc...I had a stainless steel battery tray RUST overnight on me, only to find out that company-hotrod ware, was a sister company to Mr. Gasket, along with Accel 8.8mm sparkplug wires crossfiring on the engine block instead of the plugs. Jacobs used to come with the anti-theft, rev limiter, Annunciator's diagnostic LEDs and full throttle switch. You can't get those items anymore from them (minus the rev limit switch which are now dials on the new unit). They cut features and quality, but raised the price.

Any ignition system is better than stock for the following reasons: 1: Output. The spark at your plugs is controlled by the coil, which recieves it current from the ECU controlling it. Putting in a "bigger" coil will not help, but might actually hinder your performance as the ECU is not going to send anymore current to it, that it hasn't already been sending your old coil. Your coil will only put out enough volts to push the amperage (or milijoules-depends on how you want to look at it) to the plugs. The more the better, more amperage or Mj at the plugs, the "hotter" the spark. You can use OEM wires and plugs with any system, but consider getting better replacements, you can't plug a garden hose up to a fire hydrant and not expect "leaks" in the garden hose, the less the ohm rating, the better, but RFI protection is also very important on any digital/computer controlled car. Now, Jacobs (Mr. Gasket molested) say they don't require a full throttle switch-though you still have the option of finding one and installing it. They say their new and improved system automatically detects acceleration and provides the hottest spark possible. Now on my unmolested system, that is not the case, it too will shut off the hot spark after 3 minutes and will tell me it is doing so, also will tell me when it is begining to over heat and shut off all performance features till temperatures come down. This leads me to believe the Mr. Gasket system has a shorter life span than the older units. Your best bet is ebay, looking for the older ones new or used.

Autozone of course! $15 to buy and less than 15 minutes to install.
