headlights reminder

I have left my headlights on in the daytime and drained my battery just one too many times. Although Alfa did put a headlight reminder buzzer on the car, its sound is so whimpy and weak that it goes unnoticed -- especially so with the top down. Does anyone know how to replace the alarm with a more robust noise-maker? Grazie.

If you don't find a louder buzzer, (hook it up to the horn, that'll get your attention), mabe re-wire the headlights to the ignition switch so that they cannot come on without the key being on?

There's daytime running light conversion kits out there somewhere that might be of use too.

If you're thinking of rewiring headlights through the ignition think seriously about using a relay to take the strain off the switches. You'll get brighter headlights as well.
